Flower Names

I learned about flower names with my mom. My mom plants flowers all over the yard because she doesn't have job and it's her job basicly but she doesn't get payed. She taught me these flower names. Tulip, rose, black eyed susan, kersanthamum?, daisy, bleeding heart, lilly, baby breath, pink, blue bell, and cone flower. I know these flower names now.

Wedding

I went to a wedding where a girl married a girl and it was boring during the wedding part but then they have a party and I got to eat lots of stuff. they have cake at weddings but it's not as good as birthday cake but it's taller than birthday cake. I got two meats at dinner. I never had to meats at dinner before exept at a buffet but it wasn't a buffet for dinner at the wedding I just got two meats. At desert it was a buffet though and they have a fountain but with chocolate!!!! I put my tongue in it and they had to take it and put it away and my mom said I ruined cousin Sarah's wedding but cousin Sarah just laughed. I danced to all the good songs and I just sat down on the floor when I didn't like the song and I thought that was so funny.

Dog PARK! By: Sadie Meyer

Wow a dog park is cool. It's like a kid park but for dogs and kids get to go to!!!!! I got to go and Im a kid not a dog. I played with my dog named Skip Dance and also other dogs that aren't my dog. Skip Dance pooped and peed a lot more than normal and my dad said Skip Dance is just excited. I'm sure happy I don't poop and pee a lot when I'm excited or else CHristmas would be less fun becuse I'd only be pooping and pee. The first day of school I woud poop and pee so much no one would be my friend. It woud make me so sad i woud never poop and pee again. Skip Dance made a friend named Molly and Molly is a beegle but not the kind for breakfast, the dog kind. Skip Dance pooped and peed more than Molly. I like Molly and now Molly is my friend and Skip Dance's friend. I like the dog park only I like the kid park more.

I have a confeshion

My mom called school and said Randy's sick on Monday but I wasn't sick and I went to Keylime Cove with my cousin Travis and his mom and my mom. It was lots of fun to go to a water slide place inside of a place and play with water and Travis and I am happy I did it and Ms. Fay got mad though and made me write an appollogy. So I'm sorry I lied and my mom lied but I'm real happy I got to play at keylime cove they have the best hot dogs ever and also slides.

TREE FROG!

today my dad sat me down to talk to me about a word we need to have in case a stranger comes to pick me up from school. He said if he sends someone to pick me up that they will say "Tree Frog" and that if they don't say "Tree Frog" then they are not supposed to be picking me up and I should run away. I think it's fun to have a secret word that nobody knows about!

I Went to Snappy's shrimp

I think Snappy makes good shrimp. I know he makes good shrimp because I ate the shrimp and it was so crunchy. He puts it in fry dust and oil and makes it crunchy and then you get sauce and you put it in the sauce. It tastes good and it crunchy but I burned my mouth because it is hot sometimes still when you get it. Snappy doesn't only make shrimp but also they make other things as well also. They make a thing called hushpuppys which are like bread but also french fries only circles. I like hushpuppys more than shrimp. Hushpuppys taste like food that always makes you happy even if your dad and mom are mad at you and your brother always gets good presents and you wanted the bike and he got the bike. But yeah SNappy is good at cooking shrimp and hushpuppys and I like them. It was sunny outside when we went there but it started raining when we were there. In conclusion Snappy's Shrimp is a restaurant on Irvingpark Street.

McDonald's Playplace

I love McDonalds it's my favorite dinner and when I wake up on weekends breakfast to. I like the meat and fries. It's a good restaurnt. They have things called playplace. My mom told me and i said what? it's a playground with stuff at a mcdonalds!!!! That means you get a happy meal and big toys! I was so mad when I got there cuz it was weird. A guy was there the whole time with a book but he wasn't reading it and mom said don't talk to him. I think he might have been a stranger danger but I don't know. So I go to the ball pit because it's like the coolest and someone pooped in the ball pit. That's not where poop goes. I was so mad someone pooped in the ball pit because the poop made me throw up and then my brother throogh up. I started to cry and my mom got mad and said get out of there but I couldn't get up and so she got in the ball pit to get us and then the poop touched her and she yelled sware jar words and I said that's a sware jar word and she said so help me and I said help you what and she yelled more. I didn't even get to eat my happy meal it wasn't fun.

Puddels

Spring time is still here and more than ever. When spring time comes it is time for rain and you know what that means puddels! When rain makes puddels its when it stays on the ground like sidewalks but not grass because the grass drinks the rain for dinner. Im glad rain stays on hard ground because it makes puddels! When it rains I wear my boots to jump in puddels. This week it's April and it rained a lot for the first time. The rain made puddels and I put on my boots on to jump in the puddels. I have had lots of fun because I like to jump in puddels so much even more than tony hawk. I even got to jump in puddels with my best friend Troy at his house in his mom and dad's driveway because it makes the best puddels. I always hope it rains because of puddels and that is why I like spring in Chicago and what I did.

Easter

For Easter when I woke up my dad woke me up. He said that the Easter bunny had hidden a basket for me somewhere but he didn't know where and I wood have to look for it everywhere. After my dad said that the first place I looked was my closest and it was right there. The easter bunny is stupid. It's not hidden if it's there where I hide my things. I told my dad that the Easter bunny was stupid for hiding it there and he got real mad. He said to cut the Easter bunny some break because he had to hide baskets for all the kids but just in the USA. He said maybe next year I wouldn't get a basket. He said him and the easter bunny are friends and that the easter bunny would be real upset if he heard me call him stupid for where he hide my basket. I put a peep on the cup of my dads coffee and made it like he jumped in and made him die. My dad seemed to be not as mad after that.

Spring Break!!

We had spring brake at school and didnt have to go to school! I went on spring brake at Cancoon in Mexico. At Cancoon there is lots of people is swimming suits who get drunk and its weird and my mom got mad at my sister because she did that one night and threw up everywhere. It was gross and then I threw up to becaues it was so gross. My sisters throw up was blue. I never saw that before blue throw up. In Cancoon the food is not normal mexaco food like at taco bell but I liked it some of it. Some of it I did not like. Mom said don't drink the water a lot and laughed but I didnt think it was that funny to laugh at it. Also my sister got so sick and it was something called montyzoomas revenge and so we missed our plane home thats why i wasnt at school on monday. I got beads in my hair at Cancoon and saw lots of cool stuff like skeleton drawings and the ocean and real wite sand with lots of umbrelas. I will like to go to Cancoon again but not with my sister and I think you shuld go to Cancoon too. That was my spring brake. What was your spring brake!

Horse

This past weekend I was in the bottom of Illinois with my dad and I rode a horse on his back! The horses name was Blue but he was black so his name should have been black. When I got on my horse a lady told us of all the ways that the horse could kill us if it wanted to. It was scary mostly because the lady who talked to us was ugly. My dad said that a horse killed Superman and everyone got really uncomfortable but I didn't understand. My dad can be weird. A couple times my horse stopped walking because it had to poop. I laughed when my horse pooped because horse poop is funny. Sometimes if my horse walked real fast it would hurt the inbetween of my legs area. I was a cowboy with my dad and we are cowboys together! becuase of the horses.

Smoque!

Do you like barbyque? Me too. Tonight I went to a restaurant for dinner. The restaurant it was called Smoque and it sounds like smoke. Smoque is a barbyque restaurant with big signs of things to eat. They are so good. They are even on tv because their so good. Dad ate brisket. Dads from Texas and he said the Smoque brisket was even better. I had chicken and it still had bones but it was good and they gave me sauce but I didn't like the sauce. Macarone and cheese is my favorite and my mom's favorite. Smoque has very good macarone only they don't give you enough. Next time they should give you more. You should get it if your mom and dad take you to Smoque.

Why I like Justin Bieber

I like Justin Bieber for many reasons. The first reason why I like Justin Bieber is his songs are good. I like to hear them and so does my sister Jill who is 13. Jill cries sometimes because she likes Justin Bieber like that and so I cry now too because I love him also. Another reason I love and like Justin Bieber is he is the best boy. He has a nice face and I bet he is so nice. I bet he is nice to his mom and if he has dogs he's nice to the dogs he has. I bet he has dogs because he is famess. Also another reason I love and like Justin Bieber is I saw his concert and it was fun and we even got mcdonalds but jill only got fries because so did her friends and Jill said I'm fat and mom said you're not fat. I got a happy meal with chicken mcnuggets and barbeq sauce. Finally I love Justin Bieber because he makes songs about love and I think he loves me too.

idea!

this mourning I saw birds at the school that were picking up trash and garbage and then flying away with it in there mouth! I thought that mabye the birds should do this for america and just pick up all the garbage in the world and throw it away. that way we don't have to do it and the birds seem to want to do it anyway! that is my idea

Avatar 3D!!!!!

My dad took me to see AVATAR 3D! It was like the movie was in the room with me and my dad! There was a guy with tiny legs who couldn't use his legs so he got in a blue person and used him to do stuff. In the Avatar village they ride horses but their horses have 6 hoofs instead of 4 which I laughed at but then my dad said that I shouldn't laugh at other cultures so I stopped. I got Junior Mints because they are my favorite. The bad guy in the movie had a gun that had a knife on it! I bet it shoots that knife if you press a button on the side of the gun or something. Dad said that the blue people were supposed to be Native Americans but I don't think that any of them were blue so I think my dad was making one of his jokes. When we left the movie there was a basket to put your 3D glasses in but I wanted to keep them so I put them in my hoodie pocket and threw my candy box in there so it would make a sound like glasses dropping. I can't wait to wear my 3D glasses around and see stuff pop out at me!!!!

Spring time

Hello my name is Randy. Today I saw spring is here well almost. I saw many things that said spring time is here. First I saw a bunny. In winter bunnys do not play outside because it is too cold and they are small. Also I saw little bumps on the trees. Those are called buds and they are baby leaves. I was not a bud though because I am not a leave. Finally I saw and heard birds, too. Those are signs of spring because they live other places when Chicago is cold. Bears hibernate in winter and that's an other word for nap only longer. I didnt see bears though but I know spring is here.

Hello, Readers! Welcome to this internet blogging site! As a teacher, I always try to come up with new and inventive ways for my students to express themselves, learn and play. When I was in fourth grade, my teacher, Mrs. Applebottom, had us write logs of our adventures about the town. How passe! It's the 21st century, hello! My net savvy students will be carrying the Applebottom torch, but with a fun new techno spin!

My fourth grade class will be practicing writing this quarter by writing essays about all the neat things they see around the great city of Chicago! There are so many cool activities to enjoy here, and they'll be seeing it all (if they remember their permission slips!!)

So get ready, kids! Put down those pencils and paper (got to be green!) and pick up a computer (figuratively of course unless it's one of those lap-tops!), a camera, and your imagination!

We hope all you readers in Cyberland leave lots of helpful comments and maybe even your own Chicago stories to help these awesome students learn and grow!
